About the course
Werris Creek Golf Club is on Gap Road, Werris Creek, about 20 kilometres north-east of Quirindi in the Liverpool Plains Shire and a 35-minute drive from Tamworth. The creek that gives the town its name runs through the course.
The nine-hole course has no bunkers and small oiled greens. Played twice, it is par 68 for men and 69 for women, measuring 5,357 metres from the white tees and 4,859 metres from the red.
Golf can be played seven days a week, with green fees paid through an honesty box. The club holds Sunday competitions and a 12-week summer team competition, in which players can play at any time during the week and submit a weekly score; results are posted on the club's Facebook page.
The clubhouse has a licensed bar, a gaming area, a barbecue area, a hall for hire and swings for children. It opens on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm, Friday from 4pm and Sunday from 10.30am to 6pm.
