About the course

Gardens Park Golf Links is a public course at 1 Chin Quan Road, The Gardens, on the edge of the Darwin CBD. It covers about 55 acres of tropical gardens around a lake, close to the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, Mindil Beach and the casino. The entrance and car park are on Chin Quan Road, which runs between Gilruth Avenue and Gardens Road.

The course has nine holes and plays to par 34. The 1st hole is lit by three solar LED light towers, and the club has plans to light the rest of the course for evening golf.

Anyone can play, beginners included. The club is open every day except Christmas Day from 6.30am to 7pm, and the last tee time with a cart is 5pm. Booking is recommended at weekends if you want a cart; otherwise just turn up and pay. Weekday green fees are $28 for 18 holes and $17 for nine. At weekends adults pay $38 and $27, with student, senior and service rates of $28 and $23, and children under 12 pay less. The Wacky Wednesday special is two green fees and a cart for $48. Carts take two players and you must show a driver licence; bringing your own cart costs $10. Hire clubs are available for men, women and juniors, right and left handed. Groups larger than four are discouraged except on quiet days, and dress is casual. The club runs regular Ambrose days open to members and non-members.

The clubhouse has a licensed bar, a beer garden by the lake, a pizza bar and a pro shop, and offers club repairs. BYO alcohol is not allowed. There is a practice green, a lakeside driving range where a tray of 30 balls costs $12, and a floodlit, fenced 18-hole synthetic mini golf course with shade structures.
