About the course
Mount Isa Golf Club is on Powerhouse Road in Mount Isa, the mining city in Queensland's north-west. It is run as a not-for-profit, community-focused club with about 180 members, and the club says it draws more than 3,500 social players a year, so visitors make up a large share of the golf played here.
The course is an 18-hole, par 72 layout with bunkers placed along the fairways, set against the rugged, dry country around the city. The club's website does not publish its founding date, designer or hole-by-hole details.
Mount Isa was a host venue for the first Outback Queensland Masters in 2019, the amateur series that is staged in a run of outback towns over consecutive winter weekends, and the series returned to the club in 2022 and 2023.
Visitors are welcome. Green fees are not listed online, so contact the club on 07 4743 2371 or info@mtisagolf.com, or send a booking enquiry through the form on the club's website. The site also refers to golf packages, a shop and events, without further detail.
The clubhouse has a bar and serves food and refreshments, and the club hosts social functions and events through the year. Club news is posted on its Facebook page.
