About the course
Coonalpyn Golf Club is a small country club in Coonalpyn, a town on the Dukes Highway about 170 kilometres, or two hours, south-east of Adelaide, in country once known as the Ninety Mile Desert and now a cropping and grazing district. The Coorong District Council lists the golf club among the town's community groups, alongside the football, netball and tennis clubs, the Lions Club and the agricultural show society.
The course has nine holes with 18 tees, so a full round plays each hole twice from different tee positions. The club's Facebook page says all are welcome and that the members' competition is played on Sundays. A green fee is posted on that page but is undated, so confirm the current fee with the club before playing.
