About the course

Bridport Golf Club is in the seaside town of Bridport on Anderson Bay in Tasmania's north-east, about an hour from Launceston. The club is run entirely by volunteers, and in April 2025 it opened a croquet lawn alongside the golf.

The course has nine holes with 18 alternate tees. Played as 18 it is a par 72 of 5,750 metres, with a shorter par 71 layout of 4,962 metres. The course has undulating, tree-lined fairways. A three-legged echidna known as Tripod often wanders across it.

Visitors can play every day of the week except during major events, and no booking is needed. The green fee is $35 for 18 holes and $25 for nine, or $135 for a week, and juniors aged 17 and under pay $15 and $10. Hire is subject to availability: a basic set of clubs is $10, a pull buggy $10 and an electric buggy $35. Payments are made directly with the club, not through its website. Competitions are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with a chicken run comp during the week, and juniors play a nine-hole competition at 10am on the first Sunday of each month.

The club has a driving range and a putting green. The air-conditioned clubhouse has a bar and kitchen and can be hired for functions and golf days. Get into Golf sessions run for juniors on spring and summer Mondays from 3.30pm and for women on Sundays at 10am.
