About the course

Deloraine Golf Club has been part of the Deloraine community for more than 100 years, with generations of local golfers and life members on its honour boards. The course is on Osmaston Road in rural country a few minutes from the town and about 40 minutes from Launceston.

It is a nine-hole course with separate tees for the front and back nines, so the second loop plays differently from the first. The fairways are undulating and contoured, there are water hazards and only a few bunkers, and the course is maintained largely by volunteers. Its slopes test most players.

Visitors are welcome every day as green fee players, and can enter all competitions except board events. The green fee is $25 per day on weekdays for any number of holes, and $5.50 for juniors. The weekly competitions are:

  • Tuesday: veterans, 9.30am for a 10am start, all year.
  • Wednesday: women's competition, 9.30am for 10am, usually off the top tees.
  • Thursday: the Camel Run, an alternating nine-hole stableford during daylight saving, $10 for visitors, with the bar open from 5pm and a barbecue afterwards.
  • Saturday: men's competition, with the timesheet from 9.30am and a shotgun start at 10am.

Competition dates are posted on the club's Facebook page. Club members have reciprocal playing rights at a list of other clubs, among them Exeter, Longford, Sheffield, Port Sorell and St Helens.
