About the course
Iron Pot Golf Club plays at 2972 South Arm Road, South Arm, on land owned by the South Arm RSL and Community Club. A lease agreed in 2024 secures the course for the golf club for the next 20 years and beyond. The club is run by a committee elected by its members, and club volunteers look after the course.
In 2024 the club signed an agreement with the South Arm Irrigation Scheme to connect the course to Class A water piped across the Derwent, with supply expected from winter 2025. Iron Pot and the nearby Arm End course were set to be the only two courses in Tasmania connected to Class A water. To prepare, volunteers worked with Arm End's greenkeeping team on the greens, tees and irrigation, with a renovation program of tining, hollow coring, sand top dressing and overseeding to improve the putting surfaces.
The club holds a five-year permit for rabbit control, and a volunteer project has since cleared the course and neighbouring land between it and the reserve on the South Arm Neck.
The club welcomes new members and volunteers. Green fees, playing times and visitor arrangements are not published online, so contact the club before a visit.
