About the course

Richmond Golf Club is a private nine-hole country course at 345 Richmond Road, Cambridge, about 3 kilometres from Cambridge on the road to Richmond village. It is roughly 10 minutes from Hobart and five from Hobart Airport, and overlooks the Barilla Bay waterway. The club belongs to the Southern Country Golf Association and has reciprocal rights with Tasman and Bridport golf clubs in Tasmania and Beacon Hill in Victoria.

Played as 18 holes, the course is par 66 and 4,775 metres, with a slope rating of 106. There are 10 holes in all: the first eight are replayed for the back nine, some from alternate tees, while the 9th and 18th are separate holes. The course record is 60. Yellow tee markers are used for social and practice rounds.

The club welcomes visitors and new members. Thursday's competition (tee off 8am to 10.30am) is open to visitors, Saturday's members' competition takes visitors with a prior booking, and from October to March a nine-hole twilight competition runs on Wednesday afternoons from 3pm. A weekly nine-hole competition, played over the front nine at any time outside those events, costs $10 for visitors playing with a member. Competition bookings are made through OneGolf (MiClub) online or at the club's kiosk. No visitor green fee is published, so contact the club by phone or email before visiting. The course and clubhouse can also be hired for corporate and other functions.
