About the course
Penguin Golf Club plays on a nine-hole public course off Sports Complex Road in Penguin, on the north-west coast of Tasmania.
The course has no bunkers. Instead, creeks wind through the layout and bring water into play on many holes, and several holes dogleg. The feature hole is a par 3 played over the dam. The club describes the course as suitable for golfers of all abilities, from beginners up.
The club runs a full weekly program:
- Monday: women's nine-hole competition.
- Wednesday: women's 18-hole competition.
- Thursday: veterans' 18-hole competition, plus a chicken run in the afternoon during daylight saving months.
- Friday: junior short course (email the club for details).
- Saturday: members' fixture event.
The club publishes no green fees or tee-time details online, so visitors should contact the club before playing. Membership is available, including a summer membership, and the club posts news and results on its Facebook page.
