About the course
Bairnsdale Golf Club is a combined golf and bowls club on Paynesville Road at Eagle Point. Its course has hosted many leading amateur tournaments and pro-ams over the years, and the club's Annual Tournament runs from 23 to 29 November 2026.
The 18-hole course plays to par 71 and measures just over 6,000 metres from the men's tees. The front nine asks for accurate shot-making, with four doglegs, while the back nine has undulating fairways and several blind tee shots.
- 3rd: a 491-metre par 5 with out of bounds along the right, a fairway bunker beside a dam short of the green, and a two-tiered green.
- 13th: a 503-metre par 5 that runs downhill to a small green, with views over the lakes below and out of bounds all the way down the right.
- 16th: a 415-metre par 4 with a blind drive to a wide fairway and a very small green, usually played into the wind.
- 17th: at 195 metres the longest par 3, to a raised green guarded by two bunkers.
Visitors can book online or by phone. Prices from 1 July 2026 are $57 for 18 holes and $41 for nine, with East Gippsland residents paying $52 and $36, and juniors $22 and $16. Men's competitions are held on Thursday and Saturday, women's on Wednesday and Saturday, and mixed events on Tuesday and Sunday. The pro shop hires out four golf carts, right and left-handed club sets and pull buggies; it also handles tee times, coaching and fitting days.
The club has a fully turfed driving range and short game area open seven days to members, guests and visitors, and a pro shop stocking major brands. On Thursday nights the bistro runs a pizzeria from 5pm to 8pm, for dine-in or takeaway.
