About the course
Lakes Entrance Golf Club is on Golf Links Road in Lakes Entrance, in East Gippsland. The club notes that Golf Australia magazine lists the course among the top 100 public access courses in Australia. Water and wind are the main features of play, with sandy ground and native vegetation throughout, and the club records more than 150 bird species on the course, among them eagles, kites, honeyeaters and the rare swift parrot.
The course is open to the public. Green fees are $50 for 18 holes and $32 for nine, with a weekly pass for $200, seniors $40 and $25, juniors $15 and $10, and members' guests $32 and $22. Social groups of ten or more get 10 per cent off, and in the summer months an unlimited after-4pm round costs $30. Pull buggies hire for $5, and range balls are sold in three bucket sizes. Book online through the public booking system, or contact the pro shop for large groups.
There are no competitions on Monday, Friday or Sunday. Tuesday has 9-hole social competitions, Wednesday is the women's competition day, Thursday the men's, and Saturday has men's and women's events.
The club also has golf simulators with weekly simulator competitions, coaching through Jack Young Golf Coaching, and two function rooms: the Lake Room, with its own bar, and the smaller Lorikeet Room overlooking the course. The NRMA Eastern Beach Holiday Park, 200 metres from the club, offers stay-and-play discounts.
