About the course

Balyang Par 3 is an 18-hole par 3 course run by the City of Greater Geelong at 50 Marnock Road in Newtown, close to the Barwon River and beside Balyang Sanctuary. It is set up as an introduction to the game, suitable for children from about four years old, while regular golfers use it to work on their short game, and the walk from green to tee is short.

A full round of 18 holes takes about an hour and a half. Only a pitching wedge and a putter are needed: bring your own or hire them on site, and staff are on hand to help newcomers with tips and equipment.

The course is open to the public seven days a week from 9am to 5:30pm, with the last tee off at 4:30pm. Hours may be extended in summer and can change for weather, functions and public holidays. Each fee covers unlimited play in one session: $17 for adults, $15 for concession (pensioners and full-time students) and for juniors 17 and under, and $64 for a family of two adults and two children with clubs and balls included. Club hire is $2 per item and balls are $2 each. Bookings are taken by phone on 03 5222 3336.

Casual clothing is fine but enclosed shoes are required, and alcohol is not permitted anywhere on the premises or the course.
