About the course
Geelong Golf Club is a nine-hole public course at 3-43 Ballarat Road in North Geelong, managed by Belgravia Leisure. It was once a traditional private 18-hole club and has moved to a nine-hole, public-access model while keeping club championships and pennant. In July 2025 the club reported that its membership had more than doubled in a year, helped by gender-neutral tees and sensory-friendly bell cups.
The nine holes play to par 33 over 2,088 metres: four par 3s, four par 4s and a single par 5. Fairways are tree-lined and gently rolling, greens are well bunkered and water comes into play on a few holes.
- 3rd (282 metres, par 4): plays slightly uphill to a green hidden behind five bunkers.
- 4th (450 metres, par 5): the longest hole, with a small pond 217 metres from the tee and two deep bunkers in front of the green.
The course is open to the public every day, and tee times are booked through the club's online calendar. The club's May 2026 price list gives adult fees of $25 for nine holes and $40 for 18, with concession and junior rates. In late October 2026 the calendar offered nine holes from $21 on weekdays and $25 on Sunday. Eight carts are for hire at $25 for nine holes and $45 for 18 (driver's licence needed). Dress is neat and tidy, with no thongs, singlets or work boots, and BYO alcohol is not allowed.
The practice range has a Santa Ana couch tee with targets from 70 to 200 metres, plus a putting area. Three PGA professionals give lessons, junior clinics and club fittings. The pro shop, kiosk and beer garden are open daily, with hours of 7am to 7.30pm that vary with daylight saving. Contact the club on (03) 4210 1010 or golf@geelonggolf.com.au.
