About the course

Beechworth Golf Club plays at Baarmutha Park, on Balaclava Road on the edge of historic Beechworth. It is a sand greens club and hosted the 2019 NEDGA Ladies Sandgreen Championships. Alongside the main 18-hole course is a rated 18-hole par 3 course.

The main course measures 5,277 metres for men and plays to a par of 68, with a single par 5 and five par 3s. The layout is tree-lined, with dams and drains in play and out of bounds on several holes.

1st: the only par 5, 451 metres, with a drive between two large gum trees; reachable in two with a good tee shot.
4th: a 379-metre par 4 rated the hardest hole, with trouble on both sides of the drive.
11th: a 388-metre par 4 played between two big trees, suiting a fade.
12th: a 277-metre par 4 that longer hitters can attack or lay up on.

Green fees are $15 for adults and $2 for children, and both cover a full day of play. Pay at the fees box outside the club rooms in the Baarmutha Park complex or by card at the Vendi machine. Two self-service carts can be hired through Vendi Golf for $25 for three hours or $35 for five hours, either by scanning the QR code at the clubhouse or booking ahead online after registering with a driver's licence. A club cart can also be arranged by contacting the club before your round.

Men's competitions run on Sundays (11:30am for a 12pm start) and women's on Wednesday mornings, while a mixed nine-hole twilight competition, open to all, runs on Thursdays from 4:15pm.
