About the course

Birregurra Golf Club lies in the foothills of the Otway Ranges at Birregurra, with views over the Barwon River valley. The club formed on its present site in June 1913, on land gazetted as a public park reserve in 1886 and a recreation reserve in 1889, on the banks of the Barwon. In the early years the ground had many uses: stock grazed the fairways, townsfolk played music at a rotunda near today's 9th tee, and the recreation reserve hosted cricket, tennis and athletics. A new clubhouse was built in 1975, and after the tennis and cricket clubs moved to the current recreation reserve in 1977, golf became a summer and winter sport on the site.

The course has nine holes and is open to the public, with green fees of $20 a player for a full day of golf. Tee times can be booked through Bookatee. The men's competition starts at midday on Saturdays, and the ladies play on Thursdays from 10am. The club's Open Tournament runs over four days in mid-November, with pairs, scratch and ambrose events.

The clubhouse has a fully appointed kitchen, a bar and a function space that seats up to 80 people.
