About the course

Lorne Country Club was established in 1954 and sits up the hill from the town, looking out over Louttit Bay on the Great Ocean Road. Golf shares the grounds with tennis courts, and the club also runs a bistro and an events venue.

The course has nine holes, and its character comes from the lie of the land: both the fairways and the greens slope, so there are few flat stances or straight putts. Dress on the course is casual, in keeping with Lorne's role as a holiday town.

Golf is open every day and visitors are welcome. Green fees are $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, and juniors aged 17 and under pay $20 and $15. A weekly pass costs $120, or $65 for juniors, which suits holidaymakers staying for a while. Members' guests pay a little less than visitors. Club hire is $10 and a pull buggy $5. Tee times can be booked and paid for online through Book a Tee.

The Peak, the club's bar and dining room, opened in late 2017 and overlooks the bay. Through summer it serves casual meals to the public and members, and the club lists the bistro as open daily for lunch and dinner until 26 January. The Peak also hosts weddings, social functions and corporate events, and visitors can book the tennis courts.
