About the course
Buninyong Golf Club is on Learmonth Street in Buninyong; the Ballarat Golf Club's history dates the Buninyong club to 1926. Now trading as Buninyong Golf, it is a quiet course of tree-lined fairways, natural bushland and plenty of birdlife.
The course is a par 72 with rolling fairways and mature trees, and a creek shapes the early holes. Hole-by-hole videos are on the club's course guide.
- 2nd: a par 3 with the creek running across the full width of the hole.
- 8th: the longest par 3, a real test when played into a northerly.
- 9th: the longest par 5, uphill for the first half.
- 16th: the longest par 4 for men and stroke index 1; a par 5 for women.
Visitors are welcome. Green fees are $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, students $25 and $20, and juniors 14 and under $10 and $7. Carts cost $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine. Discounted golf is offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (not public holidays), unlimited golf after 3pm is $30, and an 18-hole round with a cart is $65. Tee times can be booked online. Competition days are Tuesday and Saturday for women, Thursday for the open men's and women's competition and Saturday for men.
