About the course

Burnley Golf Course is a nine-hole public course run by Yarra City Council, tucked between the city and the Yarra River about five kilometres east of Melbourne's CBD.

The course is open to casual visitors and members seven days a week, with hours that change with the seasons; tee times are booked online through the course's booking page. Green fees, set until 30 June 2027, are $28.45 for nine holes and $33 for 18 on weekdays, and $31.90 and $36.45 on weekends and public holidays. Juniors under 18 pay $17.05 any day, and holders of eligible concession cards get reduced rates. Ten-round passes are sold for weekdays and weekends. Buggies cost $6.50 and a full set of hire clubs $27; golf cart hire is listed but not currently available. Children under 10 must be supervised by someone over 16.

Practice facilities include a chipping area, putting green and practice nets, available for $6, and practice closes 45 minutes before the course does. The pro shop handles equipment hire and club fittings, and PGA professionals offer private lessons from $67.90 for 30 minutes, with club hire included, plus four-week beginner clinics, usually on Saturday mornings or weekday evenings. A licensed kiosk serves hot and cold food and drinks, and there are barbecues, shaded outdoor seating and social club room facilities.
