About the course
Studley Greens is a nine-hole par 3 course at 121 Studley Park Road in Kew, about 5 km from the Melbourne CBD. It is aimed at everyone from first-timers to experienced golfers, and keeps rules to a minimum: there is no dress code at all.
Holes range from 110 metres up to 167 metres, the longest played uphill. A round of nine takes roughly 60 to 80 minutes, and playing it twice makes 18. Dogs are welcome on the course as long as owners clean up after them and keep them off the greens.
Rounds are booked online, and fees, $16 for nine holes on weekdays and $18 on weekends, can be paid when booking or at the kiosk. Booking ahead is recommended, as the course is often closed for events. A hire set of four clubs, including left-handed sets, costs $10, and balls and tees are sold at the kiosk, but there are no carts or pull buggies for hire. Seasonal memberships and a four-season pass are also offered.
The kiosk sells coffee, beer, baguettes, balls and merchandise. Drinks bought on site can be taken onto the course, but you cannot bring your own alcohol. The on-site restaurant and bar, Studley Grounds, opens daily from 8am to 3pm and handles group events.
Green fees
Weekends $18 for nine holes; juniors under 16 $11; golf plus club hire $26 weekdays, $28 weekends; club hire $10; no dress code; no carts or buggies.
