About the course

Euroa Golf Club is on Golf Course Road on the Melbourne side of Euroa, 2 kilometres from the town centre and about 90 minutes north-east of Melbourne off the Hume Freeway. Golf has been played in Euroa since 1908 and the club marked its centenary in 2008 with a history, Tee to Green. After a couple of moves, the course was laid out on its present site in 1948 to a design by architect Vern Morcom, whose work includes Kingston Heath.

The par 72 course measures 5,884 metres for men and 5,069 metres for women, with five par 5s, eight par 4s and five par 3s. It is gently undulating, with couch fairways and bent grass greens, and is fully watered with recycled water through an automated system that members installed. A natural watercourse and creek crossings come into play, and there are several dogleg holes.

  • 2nd: a 340-metre par 4 with a sharp dogleg left.
  • 7th: a 334-metre tree-lined par 4 with the watercourse left and a large red gum guarding the green.
  • 9th: a 343-metre dogleg right to a raised green.
  • 15th: a 210-metre par 3.

Green-fee players pay $30 for 18 holes by card at the Vendi kiosk beside the clubhouse, where carts can also be booked; pull buggies are $3 and clubs can be hired. Competitions are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 6:30am and 1pm, when it can be hard to get a game, and twilight golf runs in daylight saving months. Groups of 10 or more can book on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. The clubhouse opens only on competition days, so bring water in warm weather.

The clubhouse overlooks the putting green and the 9th and 18th greens, and has a bar, a kitchen and seating for 100.
