About the course

Mansfield Golf Club was set up in the early 1920s on former farm paddocks, and is less than two hours' drive from Melbourne in north-east Victoria. It is a public access course, and the clubhouse looks out over the course to the Victorian Alps.

The 18-hole course has been upgraded many times over the years and is now tree-lined, with couch fairways and bent grass greens. It is fully watered by an automatic system using reclaimed water. From the yardage guide it measures about 5,525 metres and plays to a par of 71, with bunkers on most holes and river red gums in play.

  • 5th: the signature hole, a 389-metre par 4 that favours a draw, with a two-tiered green.
  • 9th: a 184-metre par 3 with bunkers either side of the green.
  • 12th: a 165-metre par 3 to a raised green, with out of bounds right.
  • 13th: the centenary hole, a 477-metre par 5 and the longest on the course.

Green fees are $62 for 18 holes and $42 for nine, and a member's guest pays $55 and $35. Twilight golf, with unlimited holes, is $40 after 3pm in daylight saving and after 2pm otherwise. Juniors aged 16 and under pay $15 for 18 holes. Motorised carts are $60 for 18 holes and $40 for nine, clubs $25 and $15, and pull buggies $7. Tee times can be booked online, and social groups of eight or more can ask the golf shop about discounts.

Visitors are welcome in competitions: men's 18 holes and women's nine holes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, women's 18 holes on Wednesdays (with twilight golf in daylight saving), men's and women's 18 holes on Saturdays, and a social nine-hole event on Sundays.

The club has a pro shop and practice facilities. The Ranges, in the clubhouse, has a restaurant and bar, an outdoor deck and a children's play area, and it hosts functions and weddings.
