About the course
Melbourne Airport Golf Club is on Operations Road at Tullamarine, about 25 minutes' drive from the Melbourne CBD, and sits beside the airport's north-south runway.
The 18-hole course plays to a par of 70 over about 6000 metres, with a par-36 front nine and a par-34 back nine. It has water features, 37 bunkers and elevated greens, and tree-lined fairways and out of bounds shape several holes.
- 9th: a par 4 with a sharp dogleg right and out of bounds on the right.
- 12th: a long par 4, rated the hardest hole, to a firm green.
- 15th: a par 3 where the wind makes club choice tricky, with out of bounds left and long.
- 17th: the feature hole, a dogleg-left par 4 whose green sits less than 60 metres below the flight path, with A380s passing overhead daily.
- 18th: a long par 3 to a green that slopes right to left.
Visitors are welcome year round and can book through the online visitor booking system. Weekday green fees are $35 for 18 holes and $30 for nine. On weekends and public holidays 18 holes cost $50 before 11am and $45 after, and nine holes $35 after 11am. Juniors and pensioners have reduced rates. Carts cost visitors $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, and clubs and buggies can be hired. Men's competitions run on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday mornings, and a Tuesday social day welcomes guests. Smart casual dress with a collared shirt is required, with no tracksuit pants or T-shirts.
The pro shop opens 6.30am to 6pm daily. The club has practice nets, a practice fairway and putting green, and a licensed clubhouse with a bar that hosts functions.
