About the course
Neangar Park Golf Club is at 7 Averys Road, Eaglehawk, in Bendigo. The club's website says little about its history, but it sets out the course and facilities in some detail.
The course is par 71, with narrow fairways and fairway and greenside bunkers placed to reward accurate play. Several scorecards are available, and the pro shop can explain the options.
Green fee players can use the course every day, with some booking restrictions, and visitors are welcome in club competitions by calling the pro shop to enter. Thursday and Saturday are competition-only before 1pm. Fees are $45 for 18 holes, which includes entry to a hole-in-one competition on the 12th, and $25 for nine; juniors pay $10 for the day. Motorised carts are $40 for 18 holes and $25 for nine, and pull carts are $5. Each player needs their own bag. Book through the online booking page or by calling the pro shop on 03 5446 8223. The practice facilities are extensive for a regional club:
- Driving range: 270 metres long with 12 bays for right- and left-handers, target holes and football posts, open from 7am to dusk (from 10am on Tuesdays).
- Pitch and putt: nine holes of 40 to 70 metres, $15 for adults, $5 for children and $30 for a family, with a free wedge and putter.
The pro shop is open daily from 7am to 8pm in summer and 7am to 6pm in winter, stocks clubs, bags, carts and apparel, and does repairs and regripping. Teaching professional James Ranson gives private lessons, and MyGolf junior clinics run on Monday afternoons.
