About the course

Quarry Hill Golf Club sits on Houston Street in the Bendigo suburb of Quarry Hill, a couple of minutes from the city centre. It was founded in 1921 by Sir John Quick, Bendigo's first federal member of parliament and one of the fathers of Federation, and Lady Catherine Quick, and the clubrooms carry his name. The club celebrated its centenary in 2021.

The early layout was quite different and took golfers over the hills. The club was at its busiest in the 1970s and 1980s and was known as an affordable "working man's club", but membership fell in the 1990s as golfers moved to grass greens. It remains a sand green course, and since 2017 it has worked to reinvent itself, adding Bendigo's only disc golf course, now 18 tees and 18 baskets.

The club is run by volunteers and the course is open seven days a week. Green fees are $15 a round for golf and $5 for disc golf, paid into the green fee box in cash or by direct debit using the details posted above it. An annual green fee pass covering non-competition golf costs $240 and full membership $290, both due each May. The club has also run Sunday social golf, nine holes played as teams with no handicap needed, and nine-hole Friday twilight ambrose during daylight saving.

Dogs must be on a lead on the course. The clubhouse can be reached on (03) 5443 8610, and the hall is available for hire.
