About the course

Northcote Public Golf Course is a nine-hole public course at 143 Normanby Avenue, Thornbury, set along the Merri Creek corridor beside the Merri Creek Trail, with wetlands and native birdlife. It is run by Darebin Leisure in partnership with Darebin City Council. Thornbury Station on the Mernda and Hurstbridge lines and the Route 11 tram on St Georges Road are nearby, and parking on site is free.

The nine holes play to a par of 33 from the men's tees and 34 from the women's. The course also offers FootGolf, a mix of golf and soccer suited to families and players of all ages.

The course is open to everyone from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Booking is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Weekday green fees are $27 for nine holes and $34.75 for 18. On weekends and public holidays nine holes cost $29.50 and 18 holes $34.75. A weekday twilight rate of $17.65 applies after 3pm, and there are weekday concession and junior rates. Carts cost $35 for nine holes and $47 for 18, and clubs and buggies can also be hired.

The course has a putting green and a pro shop, and runs lessons and programs for adults and juniors, as well as school holiday clinics.
