About the course
Rosebud Country Club is a 36-hole club on Boneo Road, Rosebud, on the Mornington Peninsula. Its roots are in the nine-hole Rosebud Park Golf Course, built on Crown land with support from the Flinders Shire Council and opened in 1956. Wanting a course of their own, members agreed in March 1962 to buy 184 acres of former pine forest on Boneo Road, and on 25 November 1962 formed Rosebud Country Club, taking over the old club. The first nine holes opened in February 1964 and the full 18 on 20 March 1965. A further 89 acres bought in 1974 made room for the second course, and the present clubhouse opened in 1999. The club's story is told in Bill Hitchings' book Out of the Rough.
The two courses are the North and the South. The North has hosted DP World Tour Qualifying School and the WEBEX Players Series, and is ranked 57th in Australian Golf Digest's 2026 to 2027 list. The club describes the South as a contrasting layout valued for its playability and year-round condition.
Visitors book tee times online after registering as public players through MiClub, and the golf shop also handles bookings, competition entries and enquiries. The shop stocks equipment and apparel, offers custom club fitting and sells gift vouchers, and lessons are available through the club's golf academy.
Practice facilities include a 220-metre range with 20 hitting bays, two chipping greens, greenside and fairway practice bunkers, and a putting green of 1,237 square metres. Bistro 62 serves lunch and dinner, and the clubhouse deck looks across the course. The club also has a bowls club and 4-star stay-and-play accommodation, and holds live entertainment nights through the year.
