About the course

Wattle Park Golf Course is a nine-hole public course within Wattle Park at 1012 Riversdale Road, Surrey Hills, in Melbourne's east. Set among mature native trees, it has a bush feel only minutes from busy roads, and is home to two Victorian Golf League clubs, the Wattle Park Golf Club and the Wattle Park Ladies Golf Club.

The course is short by modern standards, with shaped fairways and a creek running through several holes. Placing the ball matters more than length, though longer hitters still have room to use a driver. A nine-hole round normally takes two hours or less, and the course can be played twice for 18.

Green fees are $24 for nine holes and $30 for 18, with weekday concession rates of $18 and $25 for pension, senior and student card holders; there are no concession or junior rates at weekends or on public holidays. Ten-game and annual passes are also sold. Bookings are made by phone. Buggy hire is $4 and a full set of hire clubs with a buggy is $22. Dress is casual, and some times are set aside for beginners. The men's club plays weekend competitions and the ladies' club plays on Tuesday mornings, and golfers without a handicap can gain a Golf Link handicap by playing three games with a club member.

The golf shop sells clubs, bags and accessories and offers club fitting by appointment, and lessons and junior holiday clinics are available. The on-site café serves Coffee Mio coffee. Course hours vary with the season, from 6am to 9pm in summer to 7am to 6pm in winter.
