About the course
Yarrambat Park Golf Course is a public 18-hole course at 649 Yan Yean Road, Yarrambat, in Melbourne's northern suburbs. Nillumbik Council owns the course and Belgravia Leisure manages it under a lease, with course maintenance contracted out. It sits within Yarrambat Park, a reserve shared with archery, model aeroplane and pony clubs. The resident club, Yarrambat Golf Club Inc., was formed in 2005, has more than 380 members, manages handicaps through Golf ID, and fields a Division 6 VGA pennant team and several senior pennant teams.
The par 72 parkland layout has Santa Ana couch fairways and bent grass greens. From the men's tees the holes total 5939 metres, with four par 5s and four par 3s. The 1st is a 346 metre par 4 with a fairway bunker down the left and a large bunker guarding a green that slopes from front to back; the 11th, at 475 metres, is the longest hole, and the 5th is a 204 metre par 3.
The course is open to all golfers seven days a week. Book online through the public booking page (non-members register as public members first) or at the clubhouse, phone (03) 9436 2201. Weekday green fees are $43.50 for 18 holes and $32.50 for nine, with weekend rates of $50.50 and $37.50 and a 10% public holiday surcharge. Golf carts cost $49 for 18 holes and $34 for nine, buggies $10, and hire clubs are available. Dress neatly: no thongs, singlets or work boots.
The driving range, with floodlit and undercover bays, is open seven days, and there is a free practice area with putting and chipping greens. The venue also has a pro shop with PGA lessons, the Goanna Golf mini golf course, a function centre and The Grass Lands gastropub and cafe.
