About the course
Fremantle Public Golf Course is a nine-hole public course at 20 Montreal Street, Fremantle, beside Booyeembara Park and less than 10 minutes from the city centre. Established in 1975, it is run by Belgravia Leisure as the City of Fremantle's operating partner.
The course plays to par 34 over 2,200 metres from the blue tees and 1,971 metres from the red. A 2023 upgrade added its first par 5, the 468-metre seventh, along with new cart paths and course furniture. Three par 3s, the longest 125 metres, mix with par 4s of 256 to 297 metres, and the afternoon sea breeze known as the Fremantle Doctor can make summer rounds harder.
Everyone is welcome and bookings are essential, made online through the course's MiClub booking system. In late October 2026 the booking calendar listed $33 for 18 holes and $23 for nine on weekdays, $26 for nine at weekends, and twilight golf from 4pm Monday to Friday at $16. Golf carts, pull buggies and clubs can be hired, with a driver's licence required at check-in. Players are asked to wear sleeved, preferably collared, shirts and covered shoes, with no thongs or singlets. The course is open from 6am to 6pm, and to 7pm in summer.
There is a practice green open to everyone without booking, and a pro shop. The site is being redeveloped: construction of LaunchPad Golf Fremantle, a $22 million multi-level venue combining interactive driving range technology with food and drink, began with a sod-turning in April 2026, and opening is expected in May 2027. The project includes a new pro shop, upgraded amenities and a cafe linked to Booyeembara Park, with longer opening hours planned. The City of Fremantle has contributed $3.2 million towards some of the works, and the course stays open during construction.
