About the course
Kwinana Golf Club grew out of a 1958 plan for a community sporting complex on Tasker's Reserve. Locals backed the idea at a meeting in Medina Hall in January 1959, and the first golf meeting was held that April under a tree outside Wheatfield Cottage, an 1842 farmhouse once owned by John Forrest. The cottage served as the clubhouse until the present building, designed by Margaret Feilman, was finished in 1960. The first game was played in July 1959 on six holes with marl putting surfaces, the second nine was completed in 1970, and Murray Dawson later advised on two new par 5 finishing holes.
The course sits in native woodland at Calista, about 30 minutes south of the Perth CBD among tall marri, tuart and other eucalypts. From the men's tees it is par 72 and about 6260 metres, opening and closing with par 5s. - 1st: a 449-metre par 5 down a narrow, tree-lined fairway to a green bunkered on both sides. - 18th: a 513-metre par 5 and the longest hole, with an uphill drive to a landing area only 20 metres wide and a sloping green in front of the clubhouse.
The course is open to the public, and Golf Australia handicap holders can enter the daily open competition. Book online after registering as a public member. Green fees from 30 March 2026 are $45 for 18 holes and $29 for nine midweek, $37.50 and $22 for seniors midweek, and $55 and $36 on weekends and public holidays. Carts cost $50 for 18 holes and $30 for nine. On the course, a collared shirt, tailored shorts or trousers and soft spikes are required.
Practice facilities include a driving range open from 6am to 4pm, a chipping area with bunkers and a putting green, and the pro shop is fully stocked. The bistro serves lunch from Wednesday to Sunday and dinner on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with bookings essential.
