About the course

Secret Harbour Golf Links is a public course among the coastal dunes at Secret Harbour, a short walk from the beach, about 15 kilometres from the Rockingham city centre and around 40 minutes south of Perth. Graham Marsh designed it as a links-style layout modelled on classic Scottish courses, and it is open to everyone all year.

The course is par 72 and measures about 6,450 metres from the back tees, with three sets of tees. The dunes and coastal wind shape most holes, and water comes into play on several.

  • 8th: a 319-metre par 4 that tempts long hitters, though the safer play is to lay up short of the water.
  • 9th: a 386-metre par 4 and stroke index 1, made difficult by the wind and a hazard down the left.
  • 12th: a 203-metre par 3 to a very long green.
  • 17th: a 173-metre par 3 over water.

Booking online is cheaper: $55 for 18 holes and $40 for nine from Monday to Thursday, and $65 and $45 from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays. Walk-in rates are $60 for 18 holes and $45 for nine midweek. Carts cost $25 per person for 18 holes and $15 for nine, and clubs can be hired. Seniors and pensioners get specials on Mondays, and there are afternoon deals that include a cart. Golfers need a collared or golf shirt, and denim is not allowed on the course.

The sheltered driving range has 14 bays and opens daily during course hours, and there are two practice greens, one for putting and one for chipping and bunker play. PGA professionals offer individual and group lessons and junior programs, and a TrackMan studio is used for lessons and club fitting. The pro shop does fitting, repairs and demo clubs. The restaurant and bar opens daily from 7am, with breakfast served from Friday to Sunday, and the venue is dog-friendly away from the course.
