About the course
Mandurah Country Club is at 16 Marsh Place on the Halls Head 'island', and its clubhouse balcony looks across Mandurah to the Darling Range and the Indian Ocean. The club was formed at a meeting on 9 March 1960, with women admitted as full members from the outset, and the course was built on land bought from the Sutton brothers. The first nine holes, designed by Murray Dawson, opened in August 1961 as Mandurah's first golf course, and the second nine came into play in 1964. The original sand greens were grassed in 1966 and 1967.
Between 1995 and 2001 course architect Greg Simmonds oversaw an upgrade: the fairways were returfed with Santa Ana couch, more than 40 fairway and greenside bunkers were added and most greens were replaced. The course has narrow tree-lined fairways, some raised greens and strategic bunkering, is a comfortable walk, and has resident kangaroos. The clubhouse was refurbished in 2019, and the club was named WA's Metropolitan Golf Facility of the Year in 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024.
Guests are welcome. Online booking is under review, so book by phoning the golf shop on (08) 9581 2968 or by email; groups of 12 or more must book by email. Green fees are $49 for 18 holes and $39 for nine from Monday to Thursday, and $59 and $45 from Friday to Sunday. Walking players can tee off after 3pm for $30, and cart packages start at $69 for one player and 18 holes midweek. On the course, denim, t-shirts, singlets, gym wear, board shorts, thongs and metal spikes are not allowed.
The golf shop has a TrackMan studio used for club fitting, swing analysis and simulator golf, and private lessons are available from the head of instruction at the Peel Golf Academy. The clubhouse is open seven days, with a bar, function rooms and a restaurant.
