About the course
Meadow Springs Golf and Country Club is at 23 Meadow Springs Drive in Meadow Springs, near Mandurah. The course opened in 1987 to a design by Robert Trent Jones Jnr and has hosted the West Australian Open seven times.
The 18-hole layout measures 6189 metres from the blue tees and runs through open bushland, following the natural contours of the land. Tuart trees around 200 years old frame generous fairways and gently rolling greens, and because few holes run parallel, groups seldom see one another.
The course is open to the public and booking is recommended, online or through the pro shop on (08) 9581 6002. Standard rates include a shared motorised cart, charged per rider: from Monday to Thursday $87 for 18 holes and $50 for nine, or $59 and $34 walking. From Friday to Sunday it is $109 and $62 with a cart, or $81 and $46 walking. Twilight golf is $29 midweek and $32 at weekends, with a cart $16 a person extra. Players must show a physical driver's licence and credit card at check-in, children under 12 are not allowed on the course, and bringing your own alcohol is not permitted. The dress code calls for a collared shirt with dress pants, shorts or a skort and soft-spiked shoes; denim, t-shirts, tracksuits and board shorts are refused. The suggested round time is four and a half hours for 18 holes.
Practice facilities include a driving range, a putting and chipping green and three practice bunkers. The range is open from 6.30am to 4.30pm daily (closed until 8.30am on Tuesdays), with baskets from $5 for about 24 balls. The pro shop stocks apparel and equipment from major brands, professional tuition is offered, and Meadow's Café serves coffee, burgers, sandwiches and wraps from 6am to 6pm daily.
