About the course

RACV Cape Schanck Resort is on Trent Jones Drive at Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula, around 75 minutes' drive from the Melbourne CBD. Its golf course was designed by American architect Robert Trent Jones Jr and is part of a coastal resort with accommodation, three restaurants, a day spa, gym, tennis courts and a pool.

The course is an 18-hole par 70 with tree-lined fairways, plenty of bunkering and ocean views from elevated tees. The resort points to good drainage and well-kept greens that keep it playable through the year.

The course is open to the public daily from 7am to 6pm; book online or call the golf shop on (03) 5950 8100. Midweek green fees are $119 for 18 holes and $80 for nine, and $129 and $94 at weekends, on public holidays and in the 1 December to 31 January peak. RACV members pay less, seniors over 60 pay $109 for 18 holes midweek, and juniors under 18 pay $50 and $25. Twilight rounds are $70 from 2pm between April and September and $90 from 3pm between October and March, and groups of 12 or more pay $80 midweek. Carts are $65 for 18 holes and $55 for nine, and hire clubs $60. An RACV Golf Season Pass also covers the RACV courses at Goldfields, Torquay, Healesville and Royal Pines.

The dress code requires collared shirts and closed shoes, with no singlets, T-shirts, denim or baggy track pants. Practice facilities include an irons-only range, a putting green, a chipping green and a practice bunker. The golf shop sells apparel, shoes and accessories and hires clubs, carts and shoes. After the round, Cape Bar and Terrace serves drinks and snacks, with its kitchen open from noon to 9pm, and stay-and-play packages combine a night's accommodation, breakfast and 18 holes for two.
